A UK version of the USA’s O*NET occupational information system — the URL above also links to related resources. A critical part of this will be the updating routines at task level and the tracking of work shifts and changes, factoring in the actual occupation and job role implications. We say this because what is ascribed to an occupation in a national skills classification system does not mean that is the case in the workplace, particular in small and medium sized businesses. In SMEs, job crafting takes place daily as jobs can be complex and move across occupational boundaries as they may be seen in larger organisations.
