Spring is sprung...
…the grass is riz. Holiday greetings from The Green Edge. Plus, we have a couple of things to ask.
Compliments of the Spring season from The Green Edge! If you celebrate Easter then we wish you a happy one. Whatever your creed, we hope you can benefit from (fingers crossed) an improvement in the weather and a welcome pause from routine, for a few days at least.
This week marks the four-month point since we launched The Green Edge. In that time we’ve made more than thirty posts and have just recorded our three hundredth subscriber. We created The Green Edge in response to our green skills survey, in which every respondent answered ‘Yes’ to the question ‘Do you (or your organisation) have an interest in joining a network to explore future green skills and employment issues?’ We’re already seeing the first fruits of that network - most recently, in the response we got from you when we called for technicians to interview for the new Technicians Gallery in the Science Museum, a project we’re working with on behalf of The Gatsby Charitable Foundation. Many thanks to those of you who responded to our call.
We’re proud of our achievement so far, but we would like to know how we can do it better. In particular, we’re keen to find out if we’re actually making a useful contribution to the understanding of green skills development in the UK. If not, how we can improve and leverage our network to make a more valuable contribution? Therefore, we’re inviting you to take our online survey - please tell us what you think, we’re big boys, we can take it. Your survey response will be anonymous and the link is in the button below. It will only take you a couple of minutes and it will help us a lot.
We have one final Ask. When Michael and I decided to launch The Green Edge, we took a conscious decision to step away from our consultancy work with Blue Mirror Insights (BMI) to focus on the newsletter. This means we’ve been financing ourselves through BMI reserves, supplemented by small engagements that we’ve accepted on provision that we can fulfil them to our clients’ satisfaction but without compromising our commitment to The Green Edge. At the same time, we remain determined to provide The Green Edge as a free and open access newsletter, because we believe nothing useful related to the green revolution should be hidden behind a paywall.
So - you’ve guessed it - we’re asking for sponsors. Your sponsorship could be at any level, perhaps as a one-off contribution or maybe in more regular instalments. Most likely, we anticipate your sponsorship would be on behalf of your organisation and may be related to a steer you’d like to give us or even a bit of digging you’d like us to make into some aspect of the green skills landscape. At whatever level, your support will be valued by us and will help us greatly with our plans for the next phase of development for The Green Edge, in which we’d like to include expert posts from a range of guest contributors as well as some digital marketing to build the membership furtrher.
If you wish to talk to us about sponsoring The Green Edge, please email us by clicking the button below.
Again, we wish you compliments of the Spring season and thank you for subscribing to The Green Edge.
